ACCESSIBILITY
This site should work for everyone who wants to read it. That includes people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification or speech recognition software.
MY STORY
What has been done
The site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at level AA. In practice that means:

Text can be resized up to 200 per cent without breaking the layout

Colour contrast has been checked against the AA threshold

Images carry text descriptions

The site can be navigated by keyboard alone

Headings are structured in order so screen readers can move through a page properly

Known limitations
Two things fall short, and it is more useful to say so than to claim otherwise.
The embedded Instagram feed on the home page is supplied by Instagram and its accessibility is outside my control. Everything shown there is also posted in a plain text form elsewhere on the site or is available by asking.
Downloadable files, including the free chapters are supplied as PDFs. These are readable by most screen readers but are not fully tagged. If you need either in a different format, ask and one will be sent.

If any part of this site or any file on it is difficult to use, email matt@mattstarostka.com. Say what you need and it will be sent in a format that works for you, whether that is plain text, large print or a Word file. There is no charge and you do not need to explain why.
