What is collected
If you sign up for the free chapters or the newsletter, the site collects your email address. If you choose to give a first name, that is collected too.
If you use the contact form, the site collects your name, your email address and whatever you write in the message.
If you simply visit, the site records basic technical information such as pages viewed and general location, in the form of anonymous statistics. This is used to understand which pages people find useful.

Contact form messages are used to reply to you.
Nothing else is done with any of it. Your details are never sold, rented, traded or passed to anyone else to market their own products.

Wix processes this information on Resonant Press Ltd's behalf, under contract and on its instruction.
Wix Forms stores the mailing list and sends the emails.
Wix also hosts this website and handles the forms.
Wix may store or process data outside the UK. Where it does, it is required to use safeguards approved under UK data protection law.

How long it is kept
Your email address stays on the list until you unsubscribe. When you unsubscribe, your record is deleted within 30 days, apart from the minimum needed to make sure you are not accidentally added again.
Contact form messages are kept for up to 12 months after the conversation ends.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information held about you. You can ask for it to be corrected or deleted. You can object to it being used, and you can withdraw your consent at any time.
The quickest way to withdraw consent is the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email. It works immediately and no explanation is needed. For anything else, email matt@mattstarostka.com and it will be dealt with within one month.
If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
This site uses a small number of cookies that are necessary for it to work, such as remembering your form entries and keeping the site secure. These are set by Wix.
It also uses cookies to collect anonymous visitor statistics, and the page displaying the Instagram feed loads content from Instagram, which may set its own cookies. You can accept or decline these when you first arrive, and you can change your mind at any time using your browser settings.
Children
This site and its books are intended for adult readers. It is not designed for children and information is not knowingly collected from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear on this page with a new date at the top.
